Sailing with skûtsjes

I cooperation with the Dutch videographers from Bureau Andersom I had a day of shooting the event ‘Skûtjessilen’ with members of IMCC, the Dutch society for stock keeping companies. Every year on the first friday in September the members join together for a pleasant networking event and a competition on ‘skûtjes’ they staff. This time it was perfect weather for sailing: wind enough. Pitty for the sailors there were heavy showers also.

Skûtjes are historical barges, sailing in the Dutch province of Fryslân.  Skûtsjes were built from the 18th century until about 1930 and are 12 to 20 m long and on average 3.5 meters wide, with a maximum of 4 meters, measurements based on the dimensions of Frisian bridges and locks).
